Hood Group awarded Gold Southend Business and Community Charter Award
We are delighted to announce that Hood Group has once again been awarded the Gold Southend Business and Community Charter Award.
Holding the gold award since 2015, this accolade recognises our active participation in and support for the local community.
The Charter Committee evaluated various facets of our community engagement, including:
- Our awareness of local issues and commitment to the community
- The involvement of directors in community initiatives
- Employee engagement with the community
- Philanthropy, including our charitable donations
- Local sourcing of goods and services
- Recruitment of local staff
- Support for youth employment
Staff across the business have actively participated in community activities, such as organising annual family fun days to raise funds, assembling Christmas gift shoeboxes for local children, and volunteering with local charities.
Sheila Milbourne, who leads Hood Group’s community support efforts, remarked, “We are delighted to have retained the Gold award and have thoroughly enjoyed our involvement with the local community. We look forward to continuing our work and, hopefully, retaining the award for another year!”
